The Locust of MM2 MM2 of The Locust Beginner Guide
Learn the lobby, read your role, make a safe first route, and survive a chase on your first night in the nest.
MM2 of The Locust is a Roblox Pre-Alpha horror survival experience. You enter a nest, the Locust hunts you, and every round is a 1 vs All problem. This guide gets you through the first night without wasting Keys, burning a taser charge on nothing, or dying in a one-door room.
This page is the on-ramp. If you want deeper habits, jump to how to survive after you finish this page. Controls are on the controls page. The players hub explains the two roles.
What you are walking into
The experience is labeled PRE-ALPHA. That does not mean it is a trailer — it is live, 30-player servers, and already past 29 million visits. THE STALKERS OG ships a working monster, a shop, Keys, and round objectives. What is still moving is the map set, the equipment ladder, and the code pipeline.
You do not pick a character. You are either the Locust (a 100 Robux buy) or a survivor. If no round has put you in the monster seat yet, you are a survivor. Read this page as a survivor.
The lobby: what to do before the round loads
Map vote. Look at the thumbnail, not the chat. Vote a layout you can read — the one with obvious rooms and a visible locker bank. Skip unlit corridor-heavy tiles until you have confirmed your sprint bind.
Controls check. Before the round locks, confirm: sprint (Left Ctrl or E), crouch (C), push (Q), and the interaction key (F or a click). If any bind feels wrong, fix it now. A wrong sprint key in a chase is a death.
Shop peek. Open the shop. Keys buy a camera and taser. Camera first if you can aim, taser first if you cannot. Do not buy a monster skin on your first night.
Codes button. The top-right Codes button in the lobby takes a string. As of September 2026, no codes are active. Community! expired. Do not waste lobby seconds typing junk.
Your first round: the order of operations
-
Spawn and orient. Name one locker bank, one stair, one vent mouth. You do not need to memorize the whole map.
-
Start moving. Keys sit on floors, in rooms, and in lower sections. Pick them up on your path. Do not detour into a dead-end for a sparkle.
-
Read the Locust. Listen for sprint sounds, door pops, and crowd movement. The monster is a player; they make noise.
-
Break line of sight before you hide. Running into the nearest locker while the Locust watches is not hiding. Get around a corner first.
-
Use freeze tools only when committed. Camera flash (~10s paralyze) and taser (~5s shock) are limited. Panic-clicking wastes them.
-
Nights reward living. If the objective stalls and the Locust is sweeping your area, leave. Do not die for a counter.
How a chase actually works
Distance only matters when it leads somewhere. Run toward a route with two exits. Turn corners to break sight. Change elevation when the map has stairs. The Locust checks lockers and vents — staying in one container all night is a loss.
When you hear the Locust nearby:
- Do not run in a straight line
- Do not follow other players (they might be bait)
- Do get to a multi-exit room
If the Locust grabs you, you are dead. Your item is gone. Revive can cost resources; only buy it if the round is still active and reachable.
What to do after a death
Spectate. Watch what the Locust does next — which rooms they check, which routes they skip. That information is your next life. Do not rejoin immediately unless the round is about to end.
When you respawn:
- Do not run the same route you died on
- Check the areas the Locust just cleared
- Farm the quieter half of the map
What PRE-ALPHA bugs look like
- An attack that does not fire (step away, retry once)
- A taser that disappears from your slot (assume it fired)
- A stuck Locust (a free kill if they unstuck; reset if they do not)
- A door that looks open but traps the hitbox (crouch and back out)
Bugs are expected. Do not build a permanent strategy around a glitch you saw once.
After your first night
Read how to survive for chase habits. Check maps and hiding spots so the same rooms stop killing you. If you have 100 Robux and want to hunt, read how to become the Locust before you buy.
The survival checklist is the short version of this page for your next lobby wait.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for nest survival, codes, and Locust hunts.
What is the first thing to do in the lobby?
Vote a map with obvious rooms and a visible locker bank. Then confirm your sprint (Left Ctrl or E), crouch (C), and push (Q) binds before the round locks.
Should I buy something from the shop immediately?
If you have Keys, buy the taser first if you die in melee range, or the camera if you can keep the Locust on screen. Skip monster skins on your first night.
How do I actually hide from the Locust?
Break line of sight first — get around a corner or behind furniture. Then enter a locker or vent. Running into a container while the Locust watches is not hiding.
What do I do if I die?
Spectate and watch what the Locust does next. That information is your next life. Revive only if the round is still active and the objective is reachable.
Are there working codes right now?
No. September 2026 has zero active codes. Community! (+100 Keys) is expired. Check the codes hub after patches for new drops.
What does PRE-ALPHA mean for my first session?
The game is live and playable, but THE STALKERS OG is still patching. Expect bugs, UI changes, and new maps. Read Pre-Alpha notes after you notice a change.
