The Locust of MM2 How to Farm Keys in MM2 of The Locust
Pick up Keys on the nest floor, survive Nights, and spend them on taser and camera — not empty codes.
Keys are the only nest currency that matters in MM2 of The Locust. THE STALKERS OG’s playable Roblox Pre-Alpha does not pay you with MM2 coins or Godly knives. You scoop glowing Keys off the map, carry them into the shop, and buy a taser, a camera, abilities, or monster skins. This page is the farm loop: where pickups spawn, when a round asks for about 30 keys, why a clip that calls Keys “useless” is talking about score not shop, and how to spend without feeding the Locust.
As of 7 September 2026 there are still zero active codes. The expired Community! string once dumped +100 Keys. Until a new string lands, farming is the whole economy. Redeem UI stays on how to redeem. The empty table sits on the codes hub.
What a Key actually is
The HUD shows a Key count on the side in most recordings. That number is shop money. It is not a round score, not XP, and not a win condition by itself. Some rounds overlay a second objective: collect about 30 keys as a group. That is a loot route, not a death race. If the Locust is already in the room, drop the objective and hide. Living keeps Nights ticking; Nights reward surviving, not dying with a full pocket.
A creator clip that says Keys are “useless” is talking about in-round points. Shop Keys still buy the freeze windows: camera flash about 10 seconds of paralyze, taser shock about 5 seconds. Rank those spends on the equipment tier list and the items guide.
Where pickups spawn
Keys sit on the floor, in side rooms, on lower sections, and along routes that look like classic Murder Mystery 2 hallways stretched darker. They are not labeled with official map names. Vote a layout you can read, then walk one loop instead of sprinting every sparkle. The maps guide is for exits; this page is for whether a sparkle is worth the chase.
Safe farm habits:
- Grab Keys that sit on the path you already planned to take.
- Skip a Key in a dead-end closet unless you already know the second exit.
- Underground spurs pay well and kill greedy players. Enter only after you memorize the stair back out — hiding spots covers those dumps.
- If a crowd clumps on a TV or a body-part prop, that clump is Locust food. Take a side Key or none.
Sprint is Left Ctrl or E. Crouch is C. Push is Q. Confirm binds on controls in the lobby, not while a Key sits under the monster.
The 30-key round
When the objective reads collect ~30 keys, treat it as a team loot contract. You do not have to personally grab thirty. You have to stay alive long enough for the lobby to finish the count. Split: one player watches the Locust audio, others tap safe rooms. If the hunter is on your floor, abandon the sparkle. Revive after death can cost resources; buy it only if the count is close and you already know a locker.
Do not confuse this with the shop Key pile. The 30-key overlay can reset next round. Shop Keys persist for the account. Spend shop Keys between rounds in the lobby shop, not in the middle of a scream.
Spend order while you farm
First taser. Second camera. Then a Key reserve. Cosmetics last. Robux Keys are a bad buy if you can still walk a loop. Save Robux for the 100 Robux Locust role if you actually want to hunt — how to become the Locust and the Locust player page. Survivor spend logic lives on survivors.
Camera and taser stocks are limited. Farming 2,000 Keys and dumping them into skins still leaves you with no stun. The survival checklist is the pre-round spend tick. The tools hub holds the planner.
Codes do not replace a farm loop
THE STALKERS OG has no public Trello. Discord (https://discord.gg/mm2ofthelocust) has a codes channel for rumors. A screenshot is not a working string until the in-game Codes button in the top-right accepts it. We rechecked on 7 September 2026: still empty. Do not paste Nikilis MM2 knife codes here. Wrong game.
If a future drop pays Keys, treat it as a skip of one farm night, then go back to floor pickups. Patch context sits on Pre-Alpha notes and the updates hub. Official URLs sit on links.
A farm night you can actually finish
- Join a public 30-player server. The nest is already released; you are not waiting on a launch.
- Vote a multi-exit interior (map tier list).
- Buy taser if you already have Keys. If you have none, plan to loot on-path only.
- Walk one floor, grab three to five Keys, break line of sight, hide.
- Repeat. Do not greed a 30-key overlay while the Locust is in the stair.
- Between rounds, spend. Then run getting started habits if you are still dying in the first minute.
Farming is boring on purpose. The Locust is a human hunter. Sparkle greed is how they find you. Open how to survive if the farm loop keeps ending in a grab, and come back here once you can loot without sprinting in a straight line.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for nest survival, codes, and Locust hunts.
How do I get Keys in MM2 of The Locust?
Pick them up on the map. Some rounds also ask the lobby to collect about 30 keys. Codes are empty as of 7 September 2026, so farming is the economy.
Are Keys useless?
Not for the shop. Camera and taser spend Keys. A clip calling them useless is talking about in-round score, not shop money. See items and equipment.
Should I chase every Key sparkle?
No. Take Keys on your planned route. Skip dead ends. If the Locust is close, hide — hiding spots.
Do codes still give Keys?
The expired Community! code gave +100 Keys. No active codes as of 7 September 2026. Recheck the codes hub.
What should I buy first with farmed Keys?
Taser, then camera. Cosmetics last. Rankings: equipment tier list.
