How to Become the Locust

The Locust in MM2 of The Locust is a player, not a scripted jumpscare. THE STALKERS OG sells the role for 100 Robux. Once it is yours, a later round can put you in the monster and ask you to clear a 30-player nest. Other monster cosmetics sit in the same shop; they change the body, not the job. This page is the hunt loop. Survivor habits you need to counter live on how to survive and hiding spots. Role identity is on the Locust.

Buying the role and other monster cosmetics

Open the shop from the lobby. The Locust unlock is listed at 100 Robux. That purchase is the playable monster, inspired by DoctorNowhere, for this experience — not a knife skin from Nikilis’ Murder Mystery 2. Separate shop rows sell other creatures and abilities for Keys or Robux. Buy those when you already understand the default hunt. Freeze tools survivors will use against you are on items and equipment; first-night habits are in getting started. After the purchase, wait for a round that assigns you the monster. Pre-Alpha matchmaking can feel inconsistent. If a round starts and you are still a survivor, you did not get robbed — you wait. Use that extra survivor round to scout the voted map. Maps and the map tier list tell you which layouts have basement funnels worth sweeping first.

Locust controls on keyboard and mobile

On keyboard, movement is the same nest locomotion survivors use, plus a normal attack and a special. Recordings show Q as the Locust special attack. Survivors use Q to push, so your muscle memory will lie to you the first time. Test both attack inputs in a dead hallway before you commit to a spawn-room dive. Sprint binds (Left Ctrl or E) still matter; a hunter who cannot close a gap loses the 10-second camera window. Full bind notes: controls.

Mobile and tablet players get the worst of Pre-Alpha. Attack buttons can be unclear or missing from the obvious HUD. If you cannot swing, do not assume the role is broken forever — look for extra on-screen buttons, a tool slot, or a prompt that appeared only after the round started. ## How to hunt a 30-player nest

Survivors scatter. Your job is a sweep, not a highlight reel. Start with the noisiest wing: screams, TVs, and clumps of avatars around props. TVs trigger horror events and pull attention; that is free information. After the obvious kills, the remaining players are in lockers, vents, secret rooms, and underground. Check containers. A player-controlled Locust who never opens a locker will time out looking at empty halls.

Do not tunnel one target through three rooms if two other survivors are still dancing in spawn. Tag the runner, break off if they hit a vent you do not know, and come back after you clear the dense rooms. Human survivors will relocate after a nearby death. If you just killed someone in a locker bank, sweep the adjacent bank immediately, then rotate. That is the inverse of the relocate rule on hiding spots.

Listen for crouch footsteps and for the click of a locker. Push through nest corridors instead of wide main halls once the lobby has learned to hide. Basements and lower sections hide Key farmers during 30-key rounds; visit them once per sweep even if they look empty from the stairs.

What survivors will do to you

Camera flash can paralyze you for about 10 seconds. Taser shocks for about 5 seconds and is limited-use. If a survivor still has those tools, they will hold them for a grab. Fake a commit, then swing after the flash. Do not stand in the open celebrating a freeze that is actually yours. When you get stunned, assume they are sprinting to a locker you just passed — check it when you recover.

Crowds are bait. Survivors copy each other into TV rooms. Punish the clump, then ignore the lone teabagger who is trying to pull you into a corridor they already know. You are one player versus many; every second you spend on a troll is a Nights tick for someone in a vent.

Pre-Alpha hunt bugs

The monster can hitch, fail to move, or fail to attack. Survivors will walk up to inspect you. If you regain control, that is a free kill. If you do not, reset rather than wasting the round. THE STALKERS OG is still patching; Pre-Alpha notes track the messy bits. Do not invent a conspiracy when a button does not fire on mobile.

A hunt loop you can repeat

  1. Confirm attack and Q special before you leave spawn.
  2. Hit the noisy wing and any TV clump.
  3. Sweep lockers, then vents, then underground.
  4. Respect camera and taser, then check the locker they fled to.
  5. Rotate. Do not patrol one hallway.
  6. Finish Key farmers downstairs last if the objective is still running.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for nest survival, codes, and Locust hunts.

How much does the Locust role cost?

100 Robux in the in-experience shop. That unlocks the player-controlled monster. Other monster cosmetics are separate shop rows and do not replace this purchase.

What button is the Locust special attack?

On keyboard, Q is the special in recorded hunts. Survivors use Q to push, so re-test after you spawn as the monster. See controls.

Why can't I attack on mobile?

Pre-Alpha mobile attack buttons can be unclear. Look for extra HUD buttons or a tool slot. If nothing swings, reset once. Details stay in Pre-Alpha notes.

Where do survivors hide from a Locust?

Lockers first, then vents, secret rooms, and underground. Sweep containers instead of empty halls. Use hiding spots as your checklist.

How do I play around camera and taser?

Expect a ~10s paralyze from camera flash and a ~5s shock from taser. Feint the grab, take the stun, then check the nearest locker. Tool details: items and equipment.

Is the Locust a bot?

No. It is a player in a 1 vs All Roblox round. Read the Locust for the role fantasy and this page for the hunt loop.
