The Locust of MM2 MM2 of The Locust Controls
Test sprint, crouch, and push in the lobby. Locust Q is a different verb than survivor Q.
MM2 of The Locust uses a small bind set and then hides the important one behind Pre-Alpha UI. You need sprint, crouch, push, a way to fire the camera, a way to fire the taser, and — if you bought the 100 Robux role — a normal attack plus a special. This page is the bind sheet. Chase theory sits on how to survive. Hunt theory sits on how to become the Locust. Test everything in a quiet corner after you spawn, not while a TV is screaming.
Survivor movement binds
Walk with the usual WASD or thumbstick. Jump is the Roblox default unless you rebound it. The three nest-specific verbs:
- Sprint — Left Ctrl on many keyboards, E on others. Some players report both across sessions. Sprint is a stamina-feeling burst for reaching a corner, not an infinite run. If nothing happens, try the other key before you assume a bug.
- Crouch — C. Use it to enter lockers, slip into low vents, and reduce how loud you look on a stair. Crouch before the container animation, not after the Locust has already seen your full-size avatar.
- Push — Q. Survivors shove other bodies out of doorways and off of loot. This is not a damage button against the Locust. If you mash Q at the monster as a survivor, you are advertising panic.
Camera relative look matters more than in bright MM2 maps. The nest is dark. Hold a consistent mouse sensitivity so a 180 toward a locker is muscle memory. On mobile, lock your sprint thumb to one extra button and do not let it overlap the jump pad. Unclear overlapping buttons are a known Pre-Alpha complaint.
Tools: camera and taser inputs
Camera and taser are shop items, not default fists. After you buy them with Keys, they occupy a tool slot. Equip, aim at the Locust, fire. Camera flash can paralyze for about 10 seconds. Taser shocks for about 5 seconds and is limited-use. If the tool disappears from inventory, it probably fired — even if the monster did not freeze. That is a bug pattern, not a reason to stand still. Spend rules and ranges: items and equipment.
Do not bind camera to the same finger you use for sprint if you can help it. The panic combo is sprint-into-flash. You want flash, then sprint to a locker you already picked. Practice the order in a round where the Locust is across the map, not during a grab.
Locust binds
When the round makes you the monster, Q becomes the special attack in recorded hunts. The normal attack is a separate input — click or a HUD button, depending on device. Re-test immediately. Survivor Q-for-push will send you into a special you did not mean, or into nothing. Sprint still closes gaps. Crouch is less useful as the Locust; your model is large, and lockers are for prey.
Mobile Locust play is the sharp edge of Pre-Alpha. Attack buttons can be unlabeled, tiny, or missing until you rotate the camera. If you cannot swing:
- Look for a second action cluster that appeared only after the role loaded.
- Tap the character, the tool slot, and the obvious punch glyph.
- Reset once if the round is still young.
- Do not chase 30 players with an empty swing hoping melee happens by proximity.
How to become the Locust covers the hunt path once the buttons work. Pre-Alpha notes is where we log input stalls.
Device-specific habits
Keyboard players should disable conflicting Roblox emote binds if E is your sprint. An emote in a chase is a death clip. Push (Q) on a crowded 30-player staircase is how you accidentally yeet a teammate into the Locust’s path. Use it on blocked locker doors and on people standing in your only exit, not as a greeting.
A bind-check ritual in every lobby
- Spawn. Turn away from the crowd.
- Tap sprint (Ctrl, then E if needed). Confirm movement change.
- Tap crouch. Confirm height change.
- Tap Q. As a survivor you should push, not swing a monster special.
- If you own camera or taser, equip and unequip so the slot is hot.
- If you are Locust this round, find normal attack and special before you leave the spawn room.
That ritual takes five seconds and saves a round. Pair it with the survival checklist and the first-join steps in getting started. When a layout punishes bad binds — long halls, tight locker banks — read maps and hiding spots so the keys you just tested have somewhere to go.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for nest survival, codes, and Locust hunts.
Is sprint Left Ctrl or E?
Both appear in public play. Try Left Ctrl first on keyboard, then E. Confirm in a quiet corner every round. Pre-Alpha patches can shuffle the prompt.
What does Q do?
Survivors push with Q. The Locust uses Q as the special attack in recorded hunts. Re-test after you spawn as the monster so you do not waste the special on a wall.
How do I crouch into a locker?
Hold C, then enter the locker or low vent. Crouch before the Locust sees full-height movement. Container choices: hiding spots.
Why don't my mobile attack buttons work as Locust?
The Pre-Alpha HUD can hide or crowd attack glyphs. Hunt extra on-screen buttons, then reset once. See how to become the Locust and Pre-Alpha notes.
How do I fire the camera or taser?
Buy them with Keys, equip the tool slot, aim at the Locust, fire. Flash ~10s, shock ~5s. If the item vanishes, assume it fired. Shop rules: items and equipment.
Should I rebind keys?
Only if Roblox emotes steal E or if your hands cannot hit Ctrl in a panic. Whatever you choose, run the lobby bind-check in getting started every round.
