Getting Started in the Nest

MM2 of The Locust is a live Roblox Pre-Alpha from THE STALKERS OG. You can join it today. Search the exact experience name, open a public server, and expect up to 30 players in a Survival / 1 vs All lobby. The Locust is inspired by DoctorNowhere. This is not Nikilis’ Murder Mystery 2, even though the rooms copy that silhouette.

Your first hour is about reading the lobby, not farming a perfect loadout. Wait for the round to form, and treat every other avatar as either a panicked survivor or the hunter. Voice chat is not supported on the experience listing; you play by audio stingers, footsteps, and what the HUD actually shows.

Lobby: vote, shop, codes button

Before the nest loads you get a short lobby. Vote a map. You will not see official names like Locust Stronghold or Survivor’s Camp — those labels are fan fiction. Vote for a layout you can parse: more hallways if you want sprint routes, more rooms if you want lockers. Open the shop if the UI is up. Keys buy monster skins, abilities, a camera, and a taser. You can also buy Keys with Robux. Do not spend your first stack on a skin. The items and equipment page explains why camera and taser come first.

Look at the top-right for the Codes button. As of September 2026 there are zero active codes. The expired Community! code once granted +100 Keys. When a new string appears, redeem it there; the codes hub and how to redeem pages keep the steps.

Read the HUD before you sprint

On spawn, find Keys and Nights. Keys sit on the side in most recordings; Nights sit near the top and start at zero. Keys are pickups on the floor, in side rooms, and in lower sections. Nights tick when you keep living. A round that asks you to collect about 30 keys is a loot route, not a death race. If the objective is survival only, ignore distant sparkles until the Locust’s audio has moved away.

Listen before you move. Floor creaks, distant screams, and TV noise are information. The first mistake new players make is following the crowd toward a prop. TVs can fire horror events; some players even get pulled through a screen. Treat glowing sets as traps until you have a second exit. Maps covers those rooms without inventing names.

First-round movement

Bind check happens now, in the first ten seconds, not during a grab. Sprint is Left Ctrl on many keyboards and E on others. Crouch is C. Push is Q. If none of that fires, open the in-experience bind list and test in a dead-end, not in the spawn doorway. Full tables live on controls. Mobile players should find sprint and crouch on the extra buttons before they wander into a nest corridor.

Do not run a straight line down the longest hall. Break line of sight at the first corner, then decide: locker, vent, or side room. Hiding spots ranks those choices. If you hear the Locust close, sprint once to a corner, crouch into cover, and stop mashing movement. Panic strafing is how a human hunter tracks you.

Keys, shop, and what to buy on night one

Pick up Keys that sit on your path. Do not drop into an underground spur for a single Key if you have not learned that floor’s exits. Some rounds really do want about 30 keys as a group; that is a team objective, not a solo suicide run. Priority spend: taser, then camera, then movement abilities if they are listed, then monster cosmetics. A camera flash can paralyze the Locust for about 10 seconds. A taser shocks for about 5 seconds and is limited-use. Skins do not save a chase. Rankings sit on the equipment tier list.

Death, revive, and the Locust unlock

When you die, the prompt may offer a revive that costs resources. Buy it if the 30-key objective is still in reach and you already know a locker on this map. Skip it if you died in the first minute with no Keys and no map memory. Nights do not care about a heroic corpse.

The Locust role costs 100 Robux and lets you play the monster in a later round. Other monster cosmetics exist in the shop. Do not buy the role until you have survived a few hunts as a regular player; you need to know where people hide. How to become the Locust and the Locust player page cover the hunt side. Survivor habits are on survivors.

A first-night checklist

  1. Join a public Roblox server (online, up to 30).
  2. Vote a map you can read; ignore fake official names.
  3. Test sprint, crouch, and push in a quiet corner.
  4. Pick up on-path Keys only.
  5. Hide after the first scream; do not inspect TVs with a crowd.
  6. Spend Keys on taser or camera, not a skin.
  7. If you die, revive only when the round is still winnable.

That list is also on the survival checklist. After two rounds, graduate to how to survive for chase theory. Patch weirdness belongs in Pre-Alpha notes. The rest of the guides hub is built for the next problem.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for nest survival, codes, and Locust hunts.

Is MM2 of The Locust released?

Yes. THE STALKERS OG released a playable Pre-Alpha on Roblox around late July 2026. You can join public servers now; it is not an upcoming launch.

What should I buy first with Keys?

A taser or camera. The taser shocks the Locust for about 5 seconds and is limited-use. Camera flash can paralyze for about 10 seconds. Skins wait. See items and equipment.

Where do I redeem codes?

Use the Codes button in the top-right. There are no active codes as of September 2026. Community! (+100 Keys) is expired. Full steps: how to redeem.

How do I become the Locust on night one?

The role costs 100 Robux. Survive a few rounds first so you know locker and vent habits, then follow how to become the Locust.

What do Nights mean on the HUD?

Nights reward surviving longer. A greedy Key run that gets you killed is worse than a quiet hide. Pair that with the how to survive chase rules.
